One Arrested After Bike Theft ‘Just Occurred’ from Front Sidewalk of Dominick’s, East Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 8:42 AM Thursday to a bike theft that “just occurred” in front of Dominick’s, 325 East Palatine Road. Police received a report that a male/black offender took the bike from the front sidewalk area of the store.

The bike was described as a green Canondale hybrid bike. A helmet was attached to the bike. The bike also has a platform accessory of the rear tire.

An alert Arlington Heights police officer spotted the suspect with the bike on Euclid Avenue near Rohlwing Road about 8:56 a.m. A Norridge police officer assisted the Arlington Heights police officer, and the suspect was in custody by 8:57 a.m.. Norridge police were presumably in the area traveling to or from the Cook County Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows.

The suspect was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
