Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State police responded about 8:50 a.m. Sunday to a one-car crash on the Northbound Route 53 exit ramp to eastbound Euclid Avenue.

A green Scion with moderate to severe damage was in the ditch to the east of the ramp. Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics transported a female accident victim to Northwest Community Hospital.

The ramp was closed twice — once to safely transport the victim from her vehicle to the ambulance and once to tow the vehicle out of the ditch.

When the ramp was closed the second time, at least three vehicles backed up the ramp back on to northbound Route 53. One Cadillac Escalade driver also cut across a grassy area to re-enter northbound Route 53.
