Chicagoland Power Outage, ComEd Restoration Estimates

Wednesday Evening Report: According to ComEd, crews have restored approximately 706,000 customers so far since the storm Monday morning. 144,000 customers remain without power.


Prospect Heights Fire Protection District Squad 9 stands by at a downed power line that was arcing and started a grass fire at the northeast corner of Route 83 and Prospect in Prospect Heights.

ComEd has a restoration map that indicates the amount of customers without power for a specific region. The regions included in the map are Aurora, Bolingbrook, Chicago North, Chicago South, Crestwood, Crystal Lake, Dekalb, Dixon, Elgin, Freeport, Glenbard, Joliet, Libertyville, Maywood, Mount Prospect, Rockford, Skokie, Streator and University Park.

As of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Crystal Lake region power outages, the Libertyville region power outages, and the Skokie region power outages remained at greater than 10,001 customers and above.

Sometime this afternoon or this evening the Mount Prospect region power outage status improved from the over over 10,001 status to the 3,001 to 10,000 status.
