Illinois Tornado Reports for April 19, 2011
Two homes were destroyed and 15 others damaged near Girard, Illinois in Macoupin County — northeast of St. Louis. People were reported trapped where two houses were damaged. A tornado spotter observed a tornado on the ground and also observed power flashes west of Girard.
Storm spotter observed tornado touch down and break and collapse two utility poles south of Virden.
Tornado reported on the ground in Kincaid, Illinois.
Large tornado reported crossing Highway 55 at mile marker 56.
Tornado reported on the ground in Litchfield, Illinois.
Numerous power lines down, miner damage to a house in Honey Bend.
Barn destroyed near IL 104 and IL 29, Taylorville with a lot of debris on the road.
Trained spotters reported a funnel cloud near Mount Zion, near Decatur.
Power flashes observed with damage in town reported in Henning, Illinois.

St. Louis
The start of the Washington Nationals- St. Louis Cardinals game has been delayed and eventually postponed because of a severe weather forecast. Pea-sized hail was reported at Busch Stadium.
Tornado Warning issued for St. Louis has expired.
The Weather Channel Tim Seidel’s crew recorded a wall cloud pass behind the skyline of St. Louis about 8:00 p.m. Gust were only estimated at about 35 mph as the wall cloud passed.
A record high of 88 degrees in St. Louis matched a record temperature last recorded in April 19, 1948. St. Louis temperature has dropped from 87°F at 5:00 p.m. to 62°F in rain at 7:11 p.m. and back to 67°F after the rain at 8:05 p.m.
Champaign County
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Champaign County and eastern Piatt County until 7:45 p.m.
Reports of cars crashed and two semi-trailer trucks and in a ditch on Interstate 74.
Funnel reported near the library in Urbana — only one call.
Utility poles are reported broken about 3 to 4 feet above the ground in Champaign County with power lines down.
Ameren Illinois reported about 35,100 customers were without power by late Tuesday
