Icy Rush Hour, 4 Utility Poles Down Crashes by 9 AM, Truck Split in Half on Half Day Rd, BG

Multiple crashes are being reported in the northwest suburbs with personal injury crashes and property damage crashes. At least four vehicles crashed into utility poles by 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Starting about 6:15 a.m., the first crash was an S-10 pickup truck that hit a utility pole in front of Buffalo Grove Fire Station 27, 100 West Half Day Road. The force of the crash split the pickup truck in half. Two people were injured in the crash.

Half Day Road between Buffalo Grove Road and Prairie Road was shut down about 6:20 a.m. Monday.

A second personal injury crash occurred just down the road at Half Day Road and Buffalo Grove Road.

A crash also occurred at Lake Cook and Highland — no injuries — involving a Volvo and and Acura.
