Buffalo Grove Man, Fabian Higgins, Facing Aggravated DUI Charges in Crash That Killed Passenger Christina Schamne

Fabian Higgins, 28, of Oak Creek Drive in Buffalo Grove is facing an aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol charge after a fatal crash just after midnight, early Monday morning. Bond was set at $500,000/$50,000 (10%) for release.

Fabian Higgins was driving a Ford Mustang southbound on County Farm Road that crossed the center line and crashed into a Ford Explorer. The crash killed passenger Christina Schamne, 23, of Hanover Park just south of Ontarioville Road.

Hanover Park police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:05 a.m. Monday to the crash on County Farm Road. Christina Schamne, of the 1800 block of Zeppelin Drive, was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hanover Park police, the DuPage County Accident Reconstruction Team and the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office are investigating the crash.
