Consumer Reports: “Don’t Buy” Warning for Current Year Lexus GX460 (VIDEO)

Video showing deliberate attempt by a Consumer Reports driver’s deliberate attempt to throw the Lexus GX460 out of control.

In a real world situation, if a vehicle were to slide out in a public road in the manner shown in the video, the rear wheel could hit a curb or slide off the pavement which could cause a rollover. It’s called a trip rollover. The report says the stability control system takes too long to kick in. Perhaps only a small tweak in the system is needed, but the Consumer Reports spokesman said he wasn’t an engineer, and couldn’t be sure.

Toyota has responded, saying, “We will try to duplicate the Consumer Reports test to determine if appropriate steps need to be taken.”
