Bystanders Rescue Woman from Apartment Fire Near Touhy and Dee Rd, Park Ridge

Two men who never met each other rescued a woman out of her second floor apartment unit at a condo/apartment near Touhy Avenue and Dee Road Friday morning about 9:15 a.m. Fourteen people escaped the fire, which was confined to one unit on the second floor at 20 South Dee Road in Park Ridge. A pet cat died in the fire.

Park Ridge Fire Department call for an extra alarm box alarm for the working apartment fire. Fire departments from Des Plaines, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, Northfield, Shiller Park and Wheeling assisted Park Ridge at the scene or by providing station coverage for the citizens of Park Ridge.
