SAT DEC 19 2009 2:30 PM ET — Reason.tv’s Dan Hayes was on the scene, capturing the tense confrontation between police and citizens who chanted “Don’t bring a gun to a snowball fight!” when a plainclothes detective, identified as Detective Baylor drew his gun after being struck by a snowball.

The plain-clothes detective is assigned to desk duty during an internal affairs investigation. The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police uniformed officer was ruled to have acted appropriately to the report of a ‘man with a gun.’
