Mount Prospect Police Called to Euthanize Injured Deer on River Road

Mount Prospect Police Department was called to help an injured deer on River Road about 5:30 p.m. A deer was unable to walk, but crawled off of the roadway along River Road in Mount Prospect. The deer was not able to be saved, and was possibly euthanized by discharge of a firearm at about 6:00 p.m. Monday. The deer will be removed by the Cook County Highway Department or Mount Prospect Public Works.

River Road was closed to traffic for less than 10 minutes at about 6:00 p.m. Monday, while police resolved the situation for the suffering animal.
