Countryside Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics and Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 9:25 AM Thursday March 1, 2018 to a report of a basement fire with no people currently in the house at 4867 Pond View Ct Long Grove, Il. The fire department response was immediately upgraded to a working fire response based on 9-1-1 caller report.
A crew on arrival reported nothing showing, but then immediately reported smoke showing from the first floor.
One firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. No other injuries were reported.
Firefighters were forced to evacuate and go to defensive mode when the first floor collapsed. The fire left the home uninhabitable.
