Free Swimming Weekend – NEW
When: September 12, 13 | 1-5 pm
Where: Olympic Swim Center 660 N Ridge

Enjoy three pools at Olympic Indoor Swim Center.
• The facility is open year round, seven days a week.
• The lap pool is 25 yards longs and six lanes wide with a depth that slopes from 3.5 feet to 5 feet end-to-end.
• The diving well includes a three-meter drop slide and walk-out stairs and two one-meter diving boards.
• The zero-depth Family Activity pool has a 50-foot flume slide, tot slide, and stair entry along with floor geysers and water-play features.
• There is a unisex sauna on the pool deck for use by those over the age of 18.
• Amenities include men’s and women’s locker rooms and four family changing rooms.

Picnic, Plein Air and Pastimes: Celebrating Arlington Heights’ History
When: September 13 | 1-4 pm | FREE!
Where: Museum, 110 West Fremont
Picnic on the Museum grounds; Root beer and popcorn; Old-time games; Live music; annual Plein Air event with local artists working throughout the grounds, Tours of historic buildings; Historical Displays, “Arlington Artists on Display” exhibit. For complete details: ahmuseum.org

Autumn Harvest
When: October 3 | 11 am to 4 pm| FREE!
Where: North School Park, Eastman Street & Arlington Heights Road
Enjoy this festival for the whole family! There will be a petting zoo, scarecrow building contest, story time, face painting and crafts, farmers market, food vendors, and all-day entertainment. Sponsored by the Village’s Special Events Commission, the Park District, Memorial Library, Historical Society and Museum, and Youth Commission. Don’t miss the kid friendly band “Little Nashville” perform at 1 pm!

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: November 27 | 4:45 pm | FREE!
Where: North School Park, Eastman St and Arlington Heights Rd
The anticipated annual tree lighting ceremony takes place . Over 80,000 tiny lights illuminate the fantasy toy displays along with a giant decorated tree in the center of the fountain. The Village of Arlington Heights Special Events Commission hosts the ceremony.

Witness the Battle of the Bulge through the Eyes of the 4th Infantry Division
When: December 5 & 6 | 1-5 pm | FREE!
Where: Historical Museum Grounds at Euclid and Vail St
The U.S. 4th Infantry Division is one of the most overlooked divisions in WWII. Their combat record in WWII of 299 days of combat and 199 consecutive days of combat can be rivaled by few divisions. Their contribution to the defense of the southern sector of The Battle of the Bulge is a little told story. Come to see the desperate battle for the defense of Luxembourg in December 1944 through the eyes of the 4th Infantry Division. This living history display includes displays of World War II uniforms, equipment, weapons, radios, field items, and gear.
