A quick thunderstorm –not as severe storms that affected DuPage County, Skokie, western suburbs, and WIsconsin — brought down a tree and power lines on Euclid Avenue just east of Dryden Avenue in Arlington Heights.
Euclid Avenue was closed in both directions between Dryden Avenue and Carlyle Lane with a large tree down across Euclid Avenue.
ComEd reported almost 400 customers without power near the downed tree. The stoplights at Euclid Avenue and Dryden Avenue were also dark.
Some of the power outages may have been caused by wind gusts later in the afternoon a few hours after the thunderstorm around noon.
