Police, firefighters, and paramedics from McHenry responded about 1:16 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026, to a report of a single-vehicle crash with injuries in the area of Charles J. Miller Parkway and McHenry Avenue in McHenry.
A passing motorist stopped to call 9-1-1 and also flagged down a passing private ambulance company (IMG) to assist. Life saving measures were attempted, but the 28-year-old male and sole rider of the Kawasaki succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
The preliminary investigation determined a green 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 850 motorcycle was traveling west on Charles J. Miller Parkway when the driver of the motorcycle left the roadway and was ejected. The motorcycle was found in the eastbound lanes of Charles J. Miller Parkway, and the rider was located in the center median.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclists was released Tuesday, June 30, 2026 as Mundelein Police Officer Paul Viduya, age 28, of McHenry.
According to the McHenry Police Department, there were no witnesses to the crash.

The McHenry County Regional Crash Assistance Team responded to the crash scene to assist in the investigation. The team consists of police officers from the McHenry Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Spring Grove Police Department, Lake in the Hills Police Department, and Richmond Police Department. Charles J. Miller Parkway was closed for approximately four hours during the crash investigation. This traffic crash is still under investigation.

Initially, the McHenry Police Department did not release any information about the deceased to allow appropriate time for notifications of family members.
