Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 to a report that a roofing construction worker fell from a roof of the Groves of Palatine 5-story multi-family condo residential building in the block of 400 West Mahogany Court in Palatine.
Upon arrival, police, firefighters, and paramedics located a 40-year-old male who was unresponsive. The roofer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the Palatine Police Department, the Palatine Fire Department, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of family members.
