No reckless homicide charge after limousine driver crashes into Nissan Rogue on Arlington Heights Road north of Biesterfield Road in Elk Grove Village (CARDINAL NEWS). YouTube Tips ⓘ

After a comprehensive investigation by the Elk Grove Village Police Department, the Cook County State’s Attorney Office has approved charges related to a fatal crash that occurred about 11:10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the block of 800 South Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village. The crash involved a 2023 black Lincoln Navigator, driven by a 50-year-old male with a juvenile passenger, and a 2014 silver Nissan Rogue, driven by a 59-year-old female.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue was pronounced deceased at the scene. All occupants of the vehicles were residents of Elk Grove Village.

Investigators determined that the driver of the Lincoln Navigator was traveling southbound on Arlington Heights Road when he struck the Nissan Rogue. The driver of the Nissan Rogue had just exited the rom the Elk Crossing Shopping Center driveway, and was turning left to travel northbound on Arlington Heights Road.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Lincoln Navigator, Mohamed Mohamed, 50, of Elk Grove Village, has been charged with the following offenses:

Speeding 35 miles per hour or more over the posted limit (Class A misdemeanor)

Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident

Failure to Wear a Seatbelt

Charges of Reckless Homicide were sought but not approved based on the evidence recovered, according to the Elk Grove Village Police Department.

In the press release, the Elk Grove Village Police Department extended its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
