Bartlett Police Department arrested at 17 year-old male suspect after an alleged shooting of an individual with a gun modified to function as a machine gun on Joan Court in Bartlett.
Police officers from Bartlett responded about 10:13 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 to a report of multiple shots fired in the block of 300 Joan Court in Bartlett.
Police located the alleged 17 year-old shooting suspect, but learned a wounded individual left the scene in a white Chevrolet Blazer, and was located in a traffic stop at Gary Avenue and North Avenue in Carol Stream around 10:45 a.m. Carol Stream Fire Department paramedics treated and transported the victim (with a gunshot wound to the leg) to a nearby hospital.

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm/Machine Gun,

“On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 10:13 A.M., officers responded to the 300 block of Joan Ct. for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were able to confirm that a shot had been fired. This is an isolated incident, with no current threat to the public. The investigation remains active at this time.”
