Police and firefighter/paramedics from Des Plaines responded about 6:45 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 to a report of an RV fire in the block of 2600 Scott Street in Des Plaines.
Firefighters immediately extinguished the fire and prevented the fire from extending to nearby structures, but located a deceased male individual inside the RV, which was parked behind a house near a detached garage.
The victim was identified as Aizen Ravenholm, age 34, of Des Plaines. His identity was not initially released pending notification of next of kin and additional investigation.
The Des Plaines Fire Department, State Fire Marshal’s Investigators, and Des Plaines Police detectives are actively conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
In a public message, the City of Des Plaines extends its condolences to those affected by this tragic event.
