The Lake County Coroners Office released the identity of a male pedestrian hit and killed in a vehicle vs pedestrian crash on the evening of Thanksgiving Day. The deceased was identified as 71-year-old Donald Dougal, of Barrington. An autopsy was conducted on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Preliminary results indicated that Mr. Dougal died from Blunt Force Injuries as a result of the crash.
Lake Zurich Fire Rescue firefighters and paramedics and Kildeer police officers responded about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 27, 2025 to a report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Quentin Road south of Rand Road in Kildeer.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics discovered a male adult unresponsive in the roadway. Paramedics pronounced Donald Dougal dead at the scene. He had been hit by a white BMW sedan, which had left, front fender damage.
Based on the seriousness of the crash, the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County was requested to assist with the investigation.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old male whose identity was not initially released, submitted to blood and urine tests after the crash. Impairment was not suspected.
The Kildeer Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) gathered evidence and investigated at the scene, and are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash following the on-scene investigation.
