Police, firefighters and paramedics from Glenview responded about 5:35 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 to a report of a single-vehicle vs pedestrian crash with injuries near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Michael Todd Terrace in Glenview.

Police, firefighters, and paramedics discovered a 72 year-old male pedestrian victim down in the roadway unresponsive. The pedestrian victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained on the scene.

The 72-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a BMW while crossing the roadway westbound through the southbound traffic lanes on Milwaukee Avenue. Presumably the driver of the BMW was southbound in the southbound lanes, as the police did not advise otherwise.

The crash is under investigation by the Glenview Police Department with assistance from the North Regional Major Crimes, Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team NORTAF MCAT.

The crash occurred about one hour after sunset in Glenview, which was about 4:26 p.m. There are no street lights along Milwaukee Avenue. There was periodic fog and mist Thursday afternoon and evening, according to National Weather Service Observations at Chicago Executive Airport and at O’Hare International Airport.

Milwaukee Avenue is a four-lane main arterial roadway and state route (IL-21) with two lanes in each direction separated by a wide painted median with double-yellow lines. The Speed Limit is 40 MPH according to Google Maps Street View images captured July 2024. There are no dedicated turn lanes in the median, and no crosswalks in the area. On southbound Milwaukee Avenue there is a fifth lane for a right turn into Triumvera Drive, just south of Michael Todd Terrace.

There are concrete curbs on both side sides of Milwaukee Avenue with a parkway on both sides. The east side of Milwaukee Avenue has a narrow Parkway with a sidewalk. There is no sidewalk on the west side of Milwaukee Avenue.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Glenview Police Tip Line at 847–901–6055.
