Police, firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 11:55 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 to a report of a pedestrian hit by an SUV at Dundee Road and Lake Boulevard in Buffalo Grove. A caller also reported the pedestrian was unresponsive. Police, firefighters, and paramedics arrived to find an unconscious adult female in the eastbound lanes of the intersection after she was hit by the driver of a black BMW SUV.
The woman apparently suffered critical injuries, and was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by Buffalo Grove Fire Department Paramedics.
Buffalo Grove Police Department shut down eastbound Dundee Road at Buffalo Grove Road, but kept the westbound lanes of Dundee Road open.
Lake County MCAT (Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team) assisted the Buffalo Grove Police Department with an on-scene investigation for about two hours. The eastbound lanes of Dundee Road were reopened at 2:20 p.m.
According to the Buffalo Grove Police Department, an 80-year-old Wheeling woman was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Dundee Road and Lake Boulevard in Buffalo Grove. The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman was uninjured and is cooperating with investigators, according to the Buffalo Grove Police Department.
The Speed Limit on Dundee Road in this area is 35 MPH.
