A ground stop was issued at O’Hare International Airport at 6:42 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025 due to an undisclosed equipment outage. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the ground stop involved ground radar.

The ground stop ended by 7:25 a.m., but flight delays persisted.

Many departures are apparently delayed about 15-20 minutes, but many arrivals appear to be landing earlier than scheduled. Arrivals that are delayed tend to be from more local airports because aircraft departing from local airports may have had departures delayed because that had scheduled departures after the ground stop was activated, while aircraft from more distant airports may have departed before the ground stop was activated.
