Arlington Heights police responded about 11:20 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 to a crash involving a police chase from Bensenville that ended near the Aldi store, 550 East Golf Road in Arlington Heights. Bensenville police were in pursuit of the driver in a stolen vehicle with three passengers. The pursuit transited through Elk Grove and Mount Prospect from Bensenveille, and entered Arlington Heights westbound on Golf Road after passing through side streets north of Golf Road near Sunset Road and Oka Avenue in Mount Prospect.
The police pursuit reached speeds of 110 MPH on westbound Golf Road just before the driver of the stolen vehicle entered Arlington Heights.
The single-vehicle crash occurred near the Aldi sign at the northwest corner of Golf Road and Goebbert Road. The stolen vehicle, a white 4-door sedan — was visible with moderate-to-severe front-end damage.
A gun was discovered in the vehicle.
Bensenville police immediately had one offender in custody near Aldi, but three offenders escaped on foot and headed east and north toward Windgate Court and Goebbert Road, and toward the intersection of Meier Road and Golf Road. Arlington Heights police officers responded and set up a perimeter in the area. A police perimeter north toward Lincoln Street from the intersection of Golf Road and Meier Road was setup by Mount Prospect police officers. All suspects were described as male black individuals.
There was no information regarding whether any of the three suspects that were at large were captured overnight Saturday and Sunday.
The Arlington Heights Police Department did not notify residents and businesses that there were potentially armed subjects at large in an Arlington Heights neighborhood.
