Two people died and one person was critically injured in a house fire that apparently started in the basement of a split-level 2-story home in Streamwood overnight Monday to Tuesday.
Police from Streamwood and firefighters and paramedics from Streamwood, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg responded about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1200 North Green Meadows Boulevard in Streamwood.

Next, she could hear the firefighters working interior as they search for victims and the location of the fire.

Firefighters used ladders to reach people trapped on the second floor. At least one victim was brought out a second floor window at the front of the home. The victims were transported to Ascension Saint Alexius hospital in Hoffman Estates.
Firefighters continued searching the home while other firefighters continued to work on the fire to make sure the fire was extinguished, and begin ventilation of the interior to clear smoke from inside the home.
The fire was declared “out” with all victims (three) accounted for by 1:50 a.m.
