Lake County Sheriff’s Crash Investigators are investigating a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash that occurred Friday night, July 4, 2025 in unincorporated Round Lake.
Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 9:10 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025 to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car at Fairfield Road and Nippersink Road in unincorporated Round Lake. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found a 67-year-old man of unincorporated Round Lake, injured in the roadway.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious, but what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2007 Nissan Versa, driven by a 22-year-old woman of Wauconda, was traveling southbound on Fairfield Road in the area of Nippersink Road. As the driver of the Nissan traveled southbound, she struck the pedestrian, who appears to have been crossing Fairfield Road.
The pedestrian was not wearing reflective or contrasting clothing and was not crossing in a crosswalk. The roadway in the area of the crash was an unlit area.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
