Pedro Perales, bank robbery suspect accused of robbing the Bank of America in Kildeer while implying he had a weapon on Friday, June 13, 2025 (SOURCE: FBI).

Local police officers and the FBI arrested a suspect during a traffic stop Friday evening, June 13, 2025, after he was wanted for investigation of a bank robbery at Bank of America in Kildeer Friday morning.

The Kildeer Police Department responded around 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 to a report of an armed robbery at the Bank of America, 20263 North Rand Road in Kildeer. A weapon was implied, but not displayed.




The suspect allegedly presented a note to the teller that implied he was armed with a gun. The bank teller complied with the demands and handed over an unknown or undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who fled the scene before police arrived.

The suspect was described as a male white, approximately 60 years old, 5-foot-7, and 210 pounds, with facial hair, including a grey goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, gray shirt, and black and silver glasses. He fled driving a newer model GMC Acadia with an unknown license plate.

The FBI Chicago Field Office, Kildeer Police Department, McHenry Police Department, and Johnsburg Police Department apprehended the suspect around 7:25 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 31 and Alexandria Boulevard in McHenry.

The arrest was made without incident, and money from the robbery was recovered.

The suspect was identified as Pedro Perales, 56, of Fox Lake. Pedro Perales is in the custody of the FBI facing bank robbery related charges.

No injuries were reported during the bank robbery in Kildeer or during the arrest in McHenry.
