
The Streamwood Police Department, with the assistance of the Major Case Assistance Team (M.C.A.T.), is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening.
Streamwood Police, along with paramedics from the Streamwood Fire Department, were dispatched to the 1600 block of McKool Ave. on May 28th at 7:50 p.m. for a report of a stabbing that resulted in two individuals, a 21-year-old female and a 10-year-old female found deceased inside a residence.
The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Jalonie Jenkins. Jalonie is armed and dangerous, and his last known location was in Bensenville. Call 911 if he is seen, please do not approach him.

Late Wednesday night, the Bensenville Police Department members became aware of the crime in Streamwood, and police officers in Bensenville located the suspect’s vehicle in Redmond Park. A perimeter was immediately established, and an extensive search of the park was conducted with the assistance of drones, search dogs, and support from area law enforcement, including the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police and other local agencies.
Bensenville Police Department turned over the investigation to the Major Case Assistance Team and Streamwood Police Department; and Thursday morning fire department divers searched the Redmond Reservoir for evidence.

A woman and a child were found deceased by police after a 9-1-1 call to Kiddie Corner Park in Streamwood Wednesday night, May 28, 2025. The woman and child were apparent victims of a violent crime near a townhouse complex near McKool Avenue and Miller Avenue in Streamwood.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Streamwood initially responded on or just before 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to a report of a deceased person at Kiddie Corner Park, 1560 Nickol Avenue in Streamwood.
The address of the incident was changed to a townhouse in the block of 1600 McKool Avenue, where police discovered two bodies with blood loss — apparently an incident involving a violent crime.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, a female/black, age 21, and a female/black, age 10, were pronounced dead at the scene at 8:07 p.m.
The initial dispatch for paramedics at 7:50 p.m. did not indicate shots were fired, but WGN News found a witness in the neighborhood that reported hearing gunshots at about 8:20 p.m. in the neighborhood.
Investigators from the Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) were assigned to the scene.
As of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Village of Streamwood provided no information that there was any police activity or violent crime Wednesday evening in Streamwood.

Village authorities in Streamwood voted on March 20, 2025 to encrypt and obstruct public fire dispatch communications, which will significantly obstruct information regarding violent crimes in Streamwood, and will obstruct or delay details available to the public, neighbors, and secondary support services regarding public safety in all communities in the Northwest Central Dispatch System 9-1-1 service area. Police radio communications have been encrypted and obstructed entirely since 2013. The majority of fire dispatch communications nationwide are not encrypted or obstructed for the common good of public safety information.
The Board of Directors (primarily Village Managers) voted unanimously on March 20, 2025 to encrypt fire radio communications in Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Streamwood, and Wheeling.
In a pre-vote before the board vote, all police chiefs and all fire chiefs (except Barrington-Countryside and Inverness fire chiefs) in the Northwest Central Dispatch System voted to encrypt and obstruct fire dispatch communications that has been publicly available for over 50 years.
