The Rolling Meadows Police Department received a report on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 of a physical altercation between juvenile subjects, which occurred near the campus of Rolling Meadows High School. The report was made several hours after the incident occurred. During the altercation, a firearm was displayed, and the firearm was also discharged, according to the Rolling Meadows Police Department. No subjects were injured as a result of the discharge of the weapon.
Rolling Meadows police detectives immediately began an investigation. Rolling Meadows Police Department detectives continued the investigation throughout the night and identified the offender.

The weapon used in this incident was recovered. This incident appears to be isolated, and no threats to the school community have been made, according to the Rolling Meadows Police Department.
The Rolling Meadows Police Department takes the safety of the school community very seriously, and extra police presence has been assigned.
