
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Rolling Meadows responded about 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 to a report of a stabbing during a fight from a traffic-related incident at Euclid Avenue and Hicks Road just west of the Route 53/Euclid Avenue interchange in Rolling Meadows.
The stabbing victim, a 45-year-old Rolling Meadows man, suffered multiple stab wounds, but was able to disarm and detain the offender with the assistance of another motorist, according to the Rolling Meadows Police Department.
Rolling Meadows police officers provided life-saving measures before Rolling Meadows Fire Department paramedics arrived.
A Palatine Fire Department ambulance was also assigned to the scene to assess the offender, who was then transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The offender was identified as Michael J. Spivey, age 41, of Mount Prospect.
