Woman Loses $1 Million to Scammer Claiming to Help Her with Her Sick Husband in Northbrook

Northbrook Police Department received a report of an online scam from a resident living in the block of 1700 Marcee Lane in Northbrook.

The complainant met a subject online who claimed he could help with her sick husband.

The subject asked for money, which over the past year, totaled $1,000,000. The complainant told police that the subject never helped her with any remedies for her sick husband.

After several months, the complainant realized she had been scammed.

According to the Northbrook Police Department, the complainant isn’t sure who the subject really is.
