Neighbors in the North Lawndale neighborhood in Chicago’s west side are shocked and disturbed by a homicide involving severed limbs. The male homicide victim was found dead inside a house that was damaged by an arson fire (Noel Brennan/CBS Chicago). YouTube Tips ⓘ

Chicago police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 8:52 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 to a residential fire in the block of 2300 South Kirkland Avenue in Chicago. Firefighters extinguished the fire and located a 68-year-old male victim inside the basement of the residence. The victim was pronounced on scene. There were no other people injured in the fire.

Area Four Detectives are investigating this 10th District CPD case in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Kirkland Avenue between Cermak Road and Ogden Avenue.

The victim was found shot in the neck and chest, with a leg severed and both arms severed. The case is being investigated as an arson and homicide.




The North Lawndale neighborhood is located near west suburban Cicero and Berwyn.
