A large vacant 2-story house in Naperville was damaged extensively by a fire early Saturday morning.
No injuries were reported in the extra-alarm fire that occurred in the block of 600 Nanak Court in southeast Naperville.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Naperville responded about 4:40 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025 to a report of a house fire in the block of 600 Nanak Court in Naperville.
Naperville police and firefighters arrived to discover that the fire had already spread throughout the first floor and extended to the second floor.
A MABAS Division 16 Box Alarm Box #2 was activated about 5:24 a.m. Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from the Aurora, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle-Woodridge, and Plainfield fire departments were assigned to assist Naperville firefighters.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Wheaton, Warrenville, Oswego, Plainfield, and Westomont were assigned to standby in Naperville fire stations.
The Box Alarm was struck out about 6:20 a.m.
The fire was under control about 6:00 a.m. and was extinguished about 7:00 a.m., according to the Naperville Fire Department.
The house had been under renovation and is uninhabitable because of damage from fire, smoke and water, according to the Naperville Fire Department. Damage was estimated at more than $700,000.
The fire is under investigation.
