DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis announced Friday, January 10, 2025 that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to detain pre-trial an Arlington Heights woman accused of fleeing from police and crashing her vehicle after her co-defendant allegedly stole mail from multiple mailboxes in an Oak Brook neighborhood and then fled on foot. Tiffany Main, age 32, of the block of 2100 South Arlington Heights Road, appeared in First Appearance Court Friday morning morning charged with two counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (one Class 3 Felony and one Class 4 Felony) and one count of Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked. Main’s co-defendant, Patryk Zubrzcki, age 41, of the block of 2900 Elm Street, River Grove, also appeared in First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), three counts of Identity Theft (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Misdemeanor Fleeing and Eluding. Zubrzcki was released following his court appearance as the charges against him are non-detainable.

Police officers with the Oak Brook Police Department responded to the Timber Trails subdivision regarding a suspended license plate on a vehicle in the area. Upon their arrival, one of the officers entered the subdivision while the other remained at the sole entrance/exit to the subdivision. One of the officers located the suspect vehicle parked on Timber Trail Drive. When the officer drove past the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle, later determined to be Zubrzcki, turned the vehicle on, drove towards and then passed the officer at which time the officer activated his emergency lights and siren. Allegedly, instead of pulling over, Zubrzcki continued to drive toward the entrance of the subdivision, but turned around when he saw the second officer stationed there. Allgedly, Zubrzcki briefly drove through the neighborhood before he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.

Alleged police officers found Zubrzcki in possession of approximately 3.7 grams of Methamphetamine when he was taken into custody.

After Zubrzcki exited the vehicle, Tiffany Main allegedly moved from the front passenger seat to the driver’s seat of the vehicle, and drove toward the neighborhood exit. Tiffany Main allegly drove over spike strips at the exit, deflating the right rear tire of the vehicle, and fled the area. Tiffany Main continued to flee officers, and at times drove on the wrong side of the road. At one point, Tiffany Main allegedly slammed on her brakes, causing the trailing squad car to strike the back of her vehicle. Then Tiffany Main again drove over spike strips, deflating the remaining three tires of the vehicle, yet continued to drive on four deflated tires until she crashed her vehicle into a raised cement median at 22nd Street and Butterfield Road near the border of Oak Brook and Oak Brook Terrace. After the crash, Tiffany Main exited the crashed vehicle and began to walk away. When Tiffany Main was given police commands to stop walking away, she began running. She was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. When searching the vehicle, officers allegedly found multiple pieces of mail with the names and addresses of residents on Timber Trails Drive as well as stolen mail with addresses in Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights and Bensenville.

“Judge Dieden’s order to detain Ms. Main pending trial sends the message that in DuPage County we take crimes that endanger public safety very seriously. The allegations that Ms. Main twice drove over spike strips, sped away from police on four flat tires, crashed her car into a median and then attempted to flee on foot are outrageous. The type of conduct alleged in this case is extremely dangerous and puts not only the driver at risk, but also endangers the lives of the police officers involved and the general public. I applaud the Oak Brook Police Department for their outstanding heads-up work on this case and for apprehending both defendants as they allegedly attempted to flee. I also thank Assistant State’s Attorneys Sean Kinsella and Melissa Kravich for their work on this case.”

— DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin

“These arrests are a great example of our officers keeping our residents safe through technology, teamwork and pro-activity. If you come to Oak Brook with the intention of committing a crime you should absolutely expect to be actively pursued, arrested and prosecuted. I’d like to thank our officers for their dedication to duty and vigilant patrols which led to an excellent coordinated effort to get these two offenders in custody. I’d also like to thank our neighboring partner agencies that assisted us in this arrest. As always, thank you to State’s Attorney Bob Berlin and his team for their assistance and guidance in this case.”

— Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis

Members of the public are reminded that this complaint contains only charges and is not proof of the defendants’ guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

— DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office

The next court appearance for both defendants is scheduled for February 3, 2025, in front of Judge Brian Telander.
