The Cook County Medical Examiners Office reported overnight that a 39 year-old male died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Suburban Studios, 2120 South Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. The primary cause of death was not initially listed, and is likely pending toxicology testing. The victim was described as a male, white, Latino.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 5:39 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 to a report of an unresponsive drug overdose victim at Suburban Studios, 2120 South Arlington Heights.
The victim was discovered in a studio room at the hotel. Paramedics worked Advanced Life Support treatment for the male victim for about 40 minutes inside the hotel room before transferring the victim to an ambulance. The victim was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The victim was initially described as a female victim at the time of the emergency
The hotel recently underwent a name change and remodeling with hopes that there would be an improvement in drug and mental health issues at the hotel.
