FATAL LOOP STABBING

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Chicago responded about 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 to a report of a stabbing in the block of 0-99 West Van Buren Street near Clark Street in Chicago.
There is a female suspect, but one is in custody. CPD Area Three detectives are investigating. The fatal stabbing is at least the third stabbing reported in the area this past week, and investigators are looking for connections in the stabbing incidents.
According to the Chicago Police Department, a female victim, age 16 was in a physical altercation with an unknown female who produced a knife and stabbed the victim two times in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner Office, a female/black, age 16, was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. The victim was identified as Heaven Taylor of the bock of 8200 south Drexel Avenue (near 82nd Street).
Police officers were already responding to the area for a report of a disturbance at the Taco Bell, 415 South Dearborn Street — just south of Van Buren Street and just south of the Harold Washington Library.
Police said the teen got into a fight with another woman in the first block of West Van Burren just before 11:30 p.m. According to police, the woman used a knife to stab the teen twice in the chest before running off (CBS Chicago). YouTube Tips ⓘ
Also, multiple reports on social media have reported the area is an area with multiple diverse problems — some possibly related to migrants housed in the area.
The intersection of Van Buren Street and Clark Street is within two blocks of a location where a mob beat and kicked a man, and left him at the curb, unconscious in the area of Dearborn Street, Van Buren Street, and Plymouth Court (video of the mob beating is referred to an X.com post on ChicagoCrimeMap.net). Video showed a final kick to the side of the victim’s head and neck was the blow that caused him to lose consciousness. At least 14 subjects were in the vicinity of the victim while he was attacked. Multiple commenters on X.com reported the intersection is a trouble spot. An unverified comment stated that single, male refugees are housed near this area, and that the area is like a ‘little Jaurez.’
The fatal stabbing incident was in CPD 1st District, and was about seven blocks west, and one block north of the Buckingham Fountain.
