The Wheaton Police Department is seeking video surveillance images that might help a death investigation case involving a pedestrian that was found near death in the road on Roosevelt Road near Crest Street in Wheaton.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023, Wheaton Police officers responded to the area of the block of 900 West of Roosevelt Road for a woman lying in the roadway. A motorist observed the woman and called 9-1-1. Police, firefighters, and paramedics located an injured female adult. Wheaton Fire Department paramedics treated and transported the victim to Central DuPage Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The fatally injured victim was identified as Paige M. Donahue, a 31-year-old Wheaton resident. She suffered severe traumatic injuries.
The Speed Limit is 35 MPH on Roosevelt Road near the incident scene, according to Goole Maps Street View.
The Wheaton Police Department is actively investigating this incident and has not out the possibility of this incident being a hit-and-run crash of a vehicle with a pedestrian. Residents in the area are asked to check their doorbell cameras and security systems for any suspicious activity or vehicles between 8:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023.
