A suspect with a stolen pickup truck in a police pursuit on Saturday, November 26, 2022, who then fled on foot after the stolen pickup truck he was driving was disabled by stop sticks, was apprehended Friday, December 2, 2022. Brandon Vice, age 35, of the block of 0-99 East Grand Avenue in Fox Lake was arrested at an undisclosed location in Park City following a tip about another stolen pickup truck.




Following the tip, Park City police officers located a tan Ford pickup truck that was reported stolen, and obtained surveillance video showing Vice getting out of the pickup and entering an apartment

Brandon Vice was arrested, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, and was also identified as the suspect of a police pursuit and ramming of a police vehicle on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

A Spring Grove police officer about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, near State Park Road and Route 12, attempted to stop the driver of a 2005 Ford F–350 pickup truck, which was reported stolen. The driver of the pickup truck didn’t stop, but the rammed the police vehicle, and fled to Waukegan via Kenosha County, Wisconsin with the stolen vehicle.




The police pursuit, originating in Spring Grove, traversed into Kenosha County in Wisconsin on eastbound Highway C and into Lake County, and ended in Waukegan after the vehicle was rendered inoperable by spiked stop sticks deployed in Kenosha County. The driver continued south on I-94 with at least one destroyed tire, and stopped near Leith Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Waukegan. The driver bailed out, leaving the disabled truck with a deflated front tire, and fled on foot. He remained at large Monday after a K-9 search of the area early Saturday morning.

A person believed to have been a passenger in the pickup truck during the pursuit remained in the pickup truck, and was detained.




The distance of the pursuit was over 20 miles. The shortest route contained to Illinois is 19.9 miles between Route 12 and State Park Road Spring Grove, and Leith Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Waukegan. Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Deputies terminated their participation in the pursuit when the pursuit re-entered Illinois.

Brandon Vice has an extensive criminal history going back to 1998, according to records in Lake County Circuit Court, and was recently also wanted for fleeing and eluding in Round Lake Park on October 5, 2022.

Brandon Vice has also faced previous charges of theft, possession of stolen property, DUI, disorderly conduct, trespassing, burglary, battery, and domestic battery, according to Lake County court records.
