Pedestrian Hit, Killed by a Metra Train Near Maple St and Prospect Ave Mount Prospect

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 to a report from Union Pacific that a pedestrian was hit by a Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line near Maple Street and Prospect Avenue.

A female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Metra Alert UP-NW alert announced that inbound and outbound train movement was halted near Mount Prospect, after Metra train #619 struck a pedestrian. Train #619 is an outbound train. In the Metra schedule Train #619 leaves Chicago OTC at 11:35 a.m. and arrives in Mount Prospect at 12:16 p.m.

On a regular schedule, Train #619 is scheduled to arrive in Arlington Heights at 12:21 p.m. and stops at all stations, except McHenry, all the way to Harvard (arrives 1:25 p.m.).
