Police from Arlington Heights responded after 3:15 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 to a report that two teens were beaten by approximately five teens near the intersection of Ridge Avenue and Fernandez Place in the Hasbrook neighborhood in Arlington Heights. Ridge Avenue and Fernandez Avenue run parallel throughout most of Arlington Heights, but intersect in the Hasbrook neighborhood between Thomas Street and Palatine Road.

Several separate individuals provided information about the incident on the conditions that Cardinal News keep each source anonymous. Additionally, the existence of the case related to the described incident was not denied by the Arlington Heights Police Department, but the request for details of the incident submitted via a FOIA request of a police report were denied on November 16, 2022.

According to information available from multiple sources, offenders traveling in a black Cadillac Escalade approached two teens while they were walking a dog near Ridge Avenue and Fernandez Place.

Approximately five male teens exited the Escalade and attacked and beat the two teens, then got back into the Cadillac Escalade and fled. The driver of the Cadillac Escalade was possibly an older male adult.

At least one of the teen victims sought medical care at the Emergency Department at Northwest Community Hospital.

The attack was witnessed by a workman traveling past the scene. The workman thought that the way the occupants in the Cadillac Escalade approached the two teens was suspicious, and the workman drove around the block to check on their well-being. During the second pass of the scene, the attack by the approximately five teens was underway.

The teens were described as male Hispanics, but no additional details were available.

The information in this article was published before any summary information was confirmed or released by police authorities.
