Man Shot and Killed on Hebron Ave Near 27th St in Zion

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Zion responded about 8:24 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 to a report of multiple gunshots in the block of 2700 Hebron Avenue on the alley side at the Hebron Townhouses.

Zion police officers arrived on the scene to find a man down at the south end of the parking lot alley with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Police determined the scene was secure and Zion Fire & Rescue Department paramedics were allowed move up to treat the patient. Zion paramedics transported the gunshot victim to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead within an hour.




The victim was identified as David Garibay, age 42, who lived near the crime scene in Zion. The Hebron Townhouses are located at the southwest corner of 27th Street and Galilee Avenue.

Zion Police Department in a release stated they are working around the clock looking for evidence and following up on leads.
