Antioch Police Detectives and Lake County Major Crime Task Force Investigators conducted an extensive investigation of a homicide in the block of 1000 Main Street in Antioch following a shooting at an apartment. During their investigation, investigators determined Johnathan N. Skroko, 28, of the 600 block of Fieldcrest Drive, South Elgin, and Hailey D. Miller, 24, of the 1000 block of Main Street, Antioch, were responsible for the murder of Robbie Dickerson, 42, of Racine, Wisconsin.

The investigation revealed that Dickerson arrived at the apartment on Main Street to sell drugs to Miller and Skroko. During the transaction, Dickerson was robbed and shot by Skroko and Miller. Skroko and Miller then fled from the scene, prior to the arrival of responding officers.

Investigators located Skroko and Miller at a hotel in the area of Route 41 and Grand Avenue, Gurnee on September 7, 2022, where both were taken into custody without incident. Investigators recovered five firearms during their investigation.

Wednesday afternoon, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved first degree murder charges for Skroko and Miller. Both suspects are being held in custody at the Antioch Police Department pending their initial court hearing.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
