After checking for confirmation with Schaumburg Police Department, CARDINAL NEWS learned this morning that a report last night of an armed vehicular hijacking is being investigated as an Attempted Robbery NOT an Armed Vehicular Hijacking. While the incident is still under investigation, Schaumburg police stated that no weapon was involved in the incident, and that the incident is being investigated as an attempted robbery (without a weapon involved), NOT an armed vehicular hijacking.

Schaumburg police responded about 11:45 PM Friday April 8, 2022 to a vehicular hijacking in the block of 0-99 Remington Lane Schaumburg, IL. Police received a report that two offenders carjacked a sedan in an apartment complex neighborhood. Taken was a gold 2018 Chevrolet Malibu with tinted windows.
The offenders were described as two male black suspects wearing black clothing — one or both armed with a handgun.
The vehicle was located a short time later in a parking lot at a location that was not initially disclosed by police.
