VP Kamala Harris Shows Frustration with ‘Charlamagne tha God’ Question About Who’s President — Joe Biden or Joe Manchin

Vice President Kamala Harris forcefully defended President Joe Biden when recently asked by Charlamagne tha God whether he or Sen. Joe Manchin is the president of the United States, as Biden’s agenda remains stalled in part because of the West Virginia Democrat. YouTube Tips ⓘ

Charlamagne tha God apparently pressed a hot button when he asked Vice President Kamala Harris whether President Joe Biden or Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was the functional president of the United States. The exchange occurred on the late-night talk show Tha God’s Honest Truth on Comedy Central.

Charlamagne tha God, is an American radio host, television personality, and author.

Immediately after the question was asked, an aide (believed to be outgoing spokesperson Symone Sanders) could be heard off-screen saying, “I’m sorry I interrupted, but I don’t think the vice president can hear you.” Symone Sanders, a senior adviser and chief spokeswoman to Vice President Harris, announced earlier in December 2021 that she is departing the White House at the end of the year. Political analysts have indicated this, along with the resignation of Communications Director Ashley Etienne two weeks prior to Symone’s departure announcement, is a sign of trouble in the Kamala Harris office.

“She can hear me,” Charlamagne said, as the voice at the other end of the teleconference was speaking. Charlamagne later turns and says to someone off-camera, “They’re acting like she can’t hear me.”

Kamala answered, “Come on Charlegmagne, it’s Joe Biden … no, no, no, no, no … no-no-no-no … it’s Joe Biden, and don’t start talking like a Republican about asking whether or not he’s president.

Physically trembling, and pointing and shaking her finger, Kamala Harris continued with an altered temperament, “It’s Joe Biden, and I’m vice president, and my name’s Kamala Harris.

Progressives were critical of Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., after he revealed Sunday, December 19, 2021 — after the Charlagmagne/Harris interview — that he would not support President Biden’s massive social spending bill known as the Build Back Better Act. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) describes himself a “…conservative Democrat,” and is a former Governor of West Virginia.

Let’s be clear: Manchin’s excuse is bullsh*t. The people of West Virginia would directly benefit from childcare, pre-Medicare expansion, and long term care, just like Minnesotans.

This is exactly what we warned would happen if we separated Build Back Better from infrastructure.”

Joe Concha, Tammy Bruce, and Alicia Acuna react to Vice President Kamala Harris’s interview with Charlamagne tha God. YouTube Tips ⓘ

Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce pointed out that it is unusual that Kamala Harris and her advisors were caught off guard by the questioning from Charlamagne tha God. Tammy Bruce also observed that Harris didn’t ‘giggle off’ the questioning (as usual).

Charlamagne tha God had previously criticized Harris following her Democratic presidential primary debate on Wednesday, July 31, 2019; he thought Corey Booker won the debate. He also previously asked Harris in February 2019 whether she had smoked marijuana. Her affirmative answer created controversy. Kamala Harris, the former San Francisco prosecutor (District Attorney) who convicted more than 1900 marijuana offenders, admitted (while laughing about it) on The Breakfast Club with host Charlamagne tha God, that she smoked weed.

In the 2020 presidential race, the disproportionate imprisonment of African American men was a major issue for Kamala Harris, who was the District Attorney for San Francisco and the Attorney General for the State of California. However, many argued that she did not deserve the reputation of responsibility for the disproportionate imprisonment of blacks because her actions were the result of momentum of laws already in effect before she served her roles.

Radio personality Charlamagne tha God, who co-hosts “The Breakfast Club,” criticizes Sen. Kamala Harris’ performance in CNN’s Democratic presidential debate, despite still calling Harris his “favorite” candidate (CNN’s Erin Burnett: “Thanks, Charlamagne tha God”). YouTube Tips ⓘ

Politician Kamala Harris stopped in at The Breakfast Club to explain why she decided to run for presidential office in 2020 while admitting she smoked marijuana in her past. The U.S. Attorney also touched on where she stands on marijuana legalization and the “nasty game” she’ll have to play going up against President Donald Trump in 2020. YouTube Tips ⓘ
