At 3:00 p.m. Timmer was northbound on US 81 approaching Madison, Nebraska after taking a right on Route NE-91 near Humphrey.
At 3:10 p.m. working on an intercept of the tornado across US 81 somewhere between Madison, Nebraska and Norfolk, Nebraska.
The tornado — to their west — was on the ground moving southwest to northeast as Timmer was headed north on US 81.
