Homeless Man Stops Driver of Stolen Orange County Fire Truck Near Anaheim, California

Garden Grove police, La Habra police, and Anaheim police were involved in a police pursuit Tuesday, December 21, 2021 that began about 1:40 a.m. after a male offender took an Orange County Fire Truck 85 from the UCI Medical Center. The truck crew were at the hospital assisting with a transport, when the fire truck was stolen.

The police pursuit traveled through several communities and ended when a homeless man stood in front of the truck and the offender stopped around 3:00 a.m. on northbound Brookhurst Street near Ball Road. According to an interview with the homeless man on ONSCENE TV, the homeless man told the offender to stop. He said he didn’t want the offender to get hurt.

UCI Medical Center is located south of Anaheim near Garden Grove.
