Park City Police and Gurnee Fire Department paramedics responded about 11:58 a.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021, to a report of a shooting with a person down at an apartment complex in the block of 700 Sharon Avenue in Park City. The initial call reported the victim was in the block of 700 South Chestnut Avenue
Park City Police Officers arrived and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. The man was 27-years-old. Park City Police Officers rendered first-aid on the man until Gurnee Fire Department paramedics arrived. CPR was administered at the scene. Paramedics transported the man to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Due to the nature of the incident, Park City Police requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded and scheduled an autopsy on the man to be conducted on October 25, 2021.
