Cook County Sheriff’s deputies and police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 5:20 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 to a report of a shooting in the block of 1500 Silver Lane in Palatine.
Police received a report that an 18 year-old male was shot. Police secured the scene by about 5:30 p.m. and paramedics immediately began treating the gunshot victim. Palatine Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to an undisclosed hospital.
Police were investigating and searching for a suspect in a black Honda CRV who drove backwards out of the apartment complex onto Frontage Road and then headed southbound on Frontage Road toward Rand Road.
Law enforcement and witnesses reported hearing rapid gunfire at the time of the shooting.
