Teton County Coroner Confirms Remains in Bridger-Teton National Forest Belong to Gabby Petito

The FBI confirmed on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 that a body found inside a Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park on Sunday belongs to the missing “van life” blogger Gabby Petito.

Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, born March 19, 1999, and that her death was a homicide. The cause of death is pending final autopsy results, according the the FBI office in Denver.

Gabby Petito, 22, was visiting Grand Teton National Park with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, 23. Gabby Petito’s body was found near the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping site. The Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area is located within the Bridger-Teton National Forest on the east boundary of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Following the discovery of the body, the FBI was still encouraging tips from the public at tips.fbi.gov or by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Brian Laundrie is missing after fleeing his family’s home in North Port, Florida; and is publicly considered a “person of interest” in the case.
