Smoke Investigation at Meijer Store on Meijer Drive in Rolling Meadows

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Rolling Meadows responded about 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 to a report of an activated alarm and smoke showing from a rooftop HVAC unit at Meijer, 1301 Meijer Drive in Rolling Meadows.

Firefighters were monitoring the alarm panel and smoke that was reported visible from the HVAC unit. No smoke was visible from the front parking lot, and no smoke was visible inside the grocery store.

The store was activated temporarily and customers were allowed back in the store by 9:23 a.m.
