Arlington Heights police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 4:43 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 to a report of a downed power line on Arlington Heights Road north of Rand Road in Arlington Heights, Il.

ComEd also required help for smoke in a building in the area. Firefighters also requested ComEd to the scene.

Southbound Arlington Heights Road just north of Rand Road was blocked for power line repairs.

Stoplights were without power at Rand Road and Palatine Road and a three car crash occurred at the southeast corner of the intersection by Olive Garden. Paramedics assessed several people involved in the crash but all refuse transportation to a local hospital.

While Afternoon thunderstorms passed through, one and a half inch of rain fell in Central Arlington Heights with some gusty winds and some cloud to ground lightning.
